After a busy weekend of football and cycling Coca‑Cola HBC employees raised an outstanding €10,000 for Our Charity partners; Action Mental Health and The Marie Keating Foundation.

Our Charity is a fundraising programme, which is led, driven and activated by the 750 employees at Coca‑Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland. In 2019, Action Mental Health and The Marie Keating Foundation were selected as the company’s new charity partners.

The weekend kicked off with the annual charity football tournament, where over 155 employees battled it out to be the 2019 winners. With a total of 16 teams taking part, it was the Ballina Team from The Coca‑Cola Company that were crowned winners after an intense final against the Cork/ Kerry Field Sales Team.

The fundraising did not stop there as the Our Charity cycle took place the following day. This year’s cycle route took participants along the beautiful North Dublin coastline. Over 20 cyclists took part this year, completingan impressive 100KM route!

Both events were an outstanding success and the sun shone all weekend, adding to the feel-good atmosphere.

On behalf of the Our Charity committee, I would like to say a heartfelt thanks to all employees who contributed to this year’s charity football tournament and cycle. Neither event would have been possible without the dedication and commitment of participants and members of the organising committees. The events showcased the unwavering team spirit we are so proud of here at Coca‑Cola HBC, but more importantly they were extremely successful in raising funds for our two charity partners. The Marie Keating Foundation and Action Mental Health are extremely appreciative for all the hard work that went into both the cycle and football this year. Elly McKee, Chair of Our Charity Committee

‘To everyone who participated, spectated, donated and of course organised in this year’s football tournament and cycle, a massive thank you for all of your support. You have once again created two amazing days of successful staff team building, morale boosting and fundraising for two fantastic causes. It was wonderful to be able to join you for your football tournament and witness all the hard work and effort that goes into your fundraising and awareness raising efforts. Everything you are doing is making a massive impact right across Northern Ireland for your local communities. With amazing companies such as Coca‑Cola HBC and incredible people such as yourselves by our side, we really can make a difference in creating a healthier community for generations to come. Thank you for stepping up to take action on mental health. We could not possibly do it without you and it is a pleasure to have you on this journey with us.’- Alex Murdock- Action Mental Health

We at the Marie Keating Foundation are so delighted to have been chosen as one of two charities by Coca‑Cola HBC Ireland this year. Your recent cycle and football tournament were both so professional and it looks like everyone had lots of fun! More importantly the money raised from both of these events will help the Foundation to continue to deliver our cancer awareness and support services to the people of Ireland. We are so grateful for your continued support. Many thanks Linda Keating- The Marie Keating Foundation
