People development is one of the most meaningful aspects of my job as I get real job satisfaction from managing, developing and helping staff to achieve their goals and progress within the company. I recently got an opportunity to develop this skillset further, as I took on a role as mentor with our Employee Mentorship Programme this year.
Coca‑Cola HBC takes its role as market leader very seriously, with a ‘people first’ approach. The company offers various training and development courses, in addition to maintaining a focus on the wellbeing and engagement of employees. One initiative that also resonates with me is the annual Big Beach Clean, which sees all employees take to beaches across the island to play their part in keeping our coast clean, and litter free. I love being a part of this day. It is a further demonstration of the positive difference we can and do make in our local communities. It also ensure all employes understand the importance of sustainability and, how we are striving to minimise our impact on our environment.
We are very much a community here in Coca Cola HBC and take pride in celebrating each other’s successes.
This is evident at the annual conference. Not only do we get to see what exciting products are launching over the coming year, we also attend an awards ceremony which celebrates the achievements of our colleagues throughout the business. My team and I use the awards use this occasion to renew our ‘growth mindset’, and focus on our ambitions for the year ahead.
Coca‑Cola HBC also unique due to the high duty of care it has towards its employees. One of our core values is ‘caring for our people’, which I believe the company really does. Coca‑Cola HBC supports its employees by providing avenues to counselling, stop smoking clinics and mental health awareness workshops. I’m really proud to work for a company that truly cares about its employees.
