Coca‑Cola HBC has a long and proud history on the island of Ireland, with 80 years of business under its belt and a wide product portfolio that continues to grow each year. I am grateful to have received so many opportunities from the business that have helped me to grow and develop on my career so far.

I started in Coca‑Cola HBC in 2013 as an Events Team Member, working on a part-time basis while I finished my degree. During my time on the Events Team, I worked across a range of events and projects, and benefitted from exposure to multiple departments, stakeholders, customers and employees.

In 2017, I joined the Public Affairs and Communications function as the Internal Communications Co-ordinator. Coca‑Cola HBC places a lot of emphasis on supporting employees and driving the right culture across the organisation. Internal Communications plays a active role in this, and I grasped the opportunity to educate and inspire the employees of Coca‑Cola HBC!

From product launches and new campaigns, to igniting pride in our community programmes and charity partnerships, there are so many great stories to share with employees. I have particularly enjoyed championing new communications channels and platforms that capture the enthusiasm of employees. I was proud to play a key role in the organisation of our successful annual company conference for our 740 employees and I’m also responsible for bringing our brands to life with impactful office branding and activations.

Coca‑Cola HBC is part of a 28-country group and if you are eager to learn and willing to work hard, there are many opportunities that can emerge to progress locally and within the Group. I was lucky enough to get the chance to gain this international experience recently, joining the Group Communications Team as Commercial Communications Trainee in April 2019. This has been such an exciting opportunity, allowing me to work with all business units across the 28 countries. I’m also developing my commercial acumen which I know will stand to me throughout my career.

Throughout my time with Coca‑Cola HBC, I have also been delighted to be involved in the Our Charity Committee; a cross-functional team and is made up entirely of employee volunteers. Helping to organise fundraisers and events for Our Charity partners has been an extremely rewarding experience and a fantastic opportunity to generate some camaraderie amongst employees.

When I look back at my time at Coca‑Cola HBC, what stands out for me is the ability of the business to constantly evolve and champion new thinking. We are encouraged to adopt a winning mindset, and this has been key to the business maintaining its market leadership in recent years.

Coca‑Cola HBC is also invested in the development of its people. Employees are motivated and driven, but also so supportive of one another. I am truly passionate about Coca‑Cola HBC and all that it offers, and I am so grateful for the fantastic opportunities I have been afforded throughout my career so far.
